The Sopa blackout Wikipedia, Reddit, Mozilla, Google, and many others protest proposed law.

  • When a bill claiming to fight piracy arrived on the Senate floor, civil society and technology leaders expressed concern. Positive in intention, the way the bill was written threatened to “break the internet.”

We partnered with the Google Policy team to mobilize partners and users to protect a free and open web by stopping SOPA. Google collected over 7.0 million signatures, making it one of the largest single-day activations in internet history. A week later, the bill was resigned. It’s going to be a new day in the Senate. The way citizens communicate with their government is never going to be the same.

Please show your support for Google and many other organizations in their stand against SOPA and PIPA. You can take action by visiting google.com/takeaction, and joining in the opposition by sharing it with your networks.
